Elokuu on kääntymässä lopuilleen ja koulut ovat alkamassa, muodossa jos toisessakin. Manchesterin Suomi-koulussakin olemme tekemässä syyslukukauden suunnitelmia täydellä teholla. September is fast approaching, and schools are starting, in one form or another. Here in the Manchester Finnish school the plans for the coming term are also taking form. Hallitsevan koronavirustilanteen ja tämänhetkisten hallituksen ohjeistusten takia emme valitettavasti pääse vielä hetkeen tapaamaan kasvotusten. Koulu alkaa kuitenkin normaalisti, ensimmäinen koulukerta on 05.09.20. Jatkamme etäopetuksella samoilla ryhmillä kuin keväälläkin. Lapsille on kolme ryhmää, alle kouluikäiset (0-5 vuotiaat), nuoremmat kouluikäiset (5-9 vuotiaat) ja vanhemmat kouluikäiset (9-17 vuotiaat). Aikuisille olemme järjestäneet myös kolme ryhmää – aloittavat, keskustelu ja edistyneet. Corona virus update - Koronavirustiedote The Finnish School in Manchester will start distance learning. In order to minimise the spread of the Covid 19 coronavirus the church premises where the Finnish School in Manchester operates have now been closed until futher notice. The school will follow the British government's and Suomi-Seura's advice and will transfer into distance learning. The teachers of each group will contact the students and will provide tasks and links to learning resources for the remaining lessons. Please make sure that your teacher has your contact details. The school comittee will monitor the situation and will provide information for any possible changes. Look after each other and your loved ones. Remember to wash hands and keep positive! What a wonderful Spring term 2019 we had

School group did a big work to find out all the secrets of life. We started from the birth and followed the whole path and different states of human's life. What a venture. Children really enjoyed to tell their own experiences, ideas and thoughts about the life itself. And what the most wonderful thing was that all children thought that life has to be full of happiness and it has to be lived fully with lots of fun, excitements, make lots of good memories with friends and family. The new vice-chairman

20th January 2019 Satu Oldendorff, vice-chairman of the Finnish Expatriate Parliament, Cenral Europe Region was thanked for her long-term work. At the same time, Kari Henrik Tumelius, the head teacher of Manchester's Finnish school, was selected in London to continue as new vice-chairman. In the picture, Kari-Henrik Tumelius, Satu Oldendirff and Kati Hognes,  the chairman of the area.

Christmas Market

Keep the date and time. The day includes lot of activities and for example, the Most Beautiful Christmas Songs in Finnish, to be led by the head of the Finnish Church in London and rector Marjaana Härkönen starting at 12.00 pm and much more. Children have their own program from  10:00 am - 12:00 pm The cafeteria is open all day, so why not pop in and have a cup of hot drink with Finnish delicacies. Warm welcome.

Welcome to the theater! Tervetuloa teatteriin!

"The Soiva Sammakko is alone in the entire Aarnitammi because Petula Owl is on the way. Soiva Sammakko reads a book that tells about ufo and may be a bit too exciting because Soiva can not sleep. "But there is no ufo in Loiskulampi" he feels comforted and turned off the reading lamp. Just when he is falling asleep, there is a strange plop in the pond. The frog flies up from the bed and looks at the pond. "There seems to be something floating wonders the frog? " The Theater The Soiva Sammakko arrives at the Finnish School in Manchester on Saturday 20.10.18. The show starts at 10:30 and ends at around 11 am. After the show there is the opportunity to attend the workshop at 11:30 - 12:00 (limited places). Bunting: Theater free for members of the Suomi School of Manchester Workshop children £ 3 (adults free with children included) During the break the café and the shop are opening where a variety goodies and hot and cold drinks will be available.
